Natural Resources In Ghana

Natural resources are the raw materials occurring in nature that can be used for economic production and consumption as well as developmental processes.

Natural Resources are raw materials that occurs in nature and can be used for economic production, developmental processes and consumption.

In Ghana, we have a lot of natural resources. There are Salt, Water, Fish, Rubber, Oil, Fossil fuels, Cocoa, Coffee, Gold, timber, Silver, Diamond, Hydropower, Bauxite, Limestone, Manganese.

The latest discovery of natural resources in Ghana is “Lithium” and sure to find new other materials.

CLASSIFICATION OF NATURAL RESOURCES

There are two groups to classify natural resources. We can classify them as how we use them.
-Renewable Natural Resources
-Non-renewable Natural Resources

RENEWABLE NATURAL RESOURCES

They are natural resources that can be replaced or replenished after use. Examples are Salt, Water, Solar, Fish, Forest cover.
"We say they are renewable because, “Water” can be gained mainly from rainfalls and if it rains, the water move to the land to water bodies bringing out new and fresh water and clearing out the old. “Solar” can only be gained from sunlight and the sun cannot shine for 24 hours which is impossible for reality."

NON-RENEWABLE NATURAL RESOURCES

They are natural resources that cannot be replaced or replenished. Examples are Gold, Diamond, Wood, Lithium, Bauxite, Coa,l Oil, Flames, etc.
"We say they are non-renewable because, “Gold” can be kept, reform or reshape into any shape and can stay that way until the next and upcoming generation."

USES OF NATURAL RESOURCES IN GHANA

In our local society, we can only that our natural resources are being used for many other materials that some have no idea of. Our natural resources are very valuable and can also be used to develop and create proper materials for our country.

Our natural resources can be used to support our neighboring countries with electricity. Some natural resources like, hydropower are not only used in Ghana, but are also being shared among other countries like Brukina Faso and others.
Our natural resources can be used to develop and support our human resources. In Ghana, our human resources is very important and must be given much attention by government.
Our natural resources can be used to develop our educational facilities for students like Science Labs, Libraries, Sports grounds and better Feeding for student for the next generation.
Our natural resources can also be used to exploit our natural resources by adding value to our resources that are being exported to other countries.
